Dr. Cornelius Turalba received his M.D. degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed Radiation Therapy residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia) in 1978. He was an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia until 1986, at which time, he moved Bradenton, Florida to enter private practice.
Dr Turalba's broad experience covers multiple modalities of radiation therapy as applied to cancers of different body sites, particularly breast, brain, lung and prostate. He uses external-beam therapy to treat most forms of cancer and performs brachytherapy for cancers such as lung, esophagus and breast.
Dr. Turalba has been named Fellow of the American College of Radiology in recognition of his experience and achievements in the field of Radiation Oncology. He is a past-President and past-Medical Advisor of the American Cancer Society, Manatee Unit, past-President of the Manatee County Medical Society and past Medical Director of the Manatee Unit of Tidewell Hospice. He received awards for outstanding community service from various organizations.
